About Me

Takuma Masuda - HCI & XR Researcher

Takuma Masuda

HCI & XR Researcher Candidate

University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan

Biography

Hi there, thank you for visiting my portfolio! I am a 3rd year bachelor's student at the University of Electro-Communications in Japan, passionate about Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Extended Reality (XR), and creating technology that enhances human well-being.

I have worked extensively with eye gaze tracking, physiological sensing, and multimodal interaction technologies to enhance remote collaboration systems. My hands-on experience includes developing immersive applications using VR, AR, and MR devices.

I regularly use Unity and object-oriented/component-oriented programming to move concepts into functional AR/VR prototypes, and I am actively preparing for Ph.D. opportunities in HCI/VR/AR to further my research.

Research Motivation

My core motivation is to enable people to connect and collaborate beyond the barriers of time and space. While creating inclusive digital experiences is important to me, I am ultimately driven by the vision of fostering meaningful human connections regardless of physical location or time zones.
